The
World & I Online offers a comprehensive
Global Culture Studies program, with thousands of
cultural stories and detailed demographic information for over
200 countries. Our stories present the many aspects of worldwide
cultural practices and traditions in a unique and engaging way.
This article-based Global Culture Studies page interacts with
the World Gallery, where you can enjoy world culture photos and
multimedia presentations.
In the center of the homepage is a continuous slideshow of
cultural images. This slideshow, along with the pull-down menu
directly above it, is associated with the Global Culture Studies
page. There are two ways to access this section.
1. Choose a country from the pull-down menu and you will be
taken directly to the associated page.
2. Click on the cultural image that is currently on display and
you will be taken to the page for the associated country.
Once you have accessed the page for the desired
country, you will find a list of sections for cultural stories
on the far right-hand side of the page. The availability of
cultural story topics varies by country, and they include:

* Some countries have a feature called Ethnicity in
America, which presents stories about how immigrants
from these particular countries have made America the
cultural melting pot that it is today, as well as the
ways in which they have retained their own traditions
within America. |
Above the list of features, most countries
will have a Cultural Images link. Clicking this link will take
you to that country’s World Gallery page. If a country has a
Multimedia Presentation associated with it, there will be a link
to it as well, directly above the Cultural Images link.
